Antique Korean three section chest with beautiful inlay on black lacquer. The top section has three small drawers along the top, decorated with inlay in a geometric pattern. The cabinet doors are decorated inside with scenes of birds on branches. The other panels are decorated with landscapes, scenes of birds, and other animals. Choson period, circa 1900. It measures 20" deep 68" tall 40.25" wide.

Antique Korean bandaji chest, adorned with large brass hardware, incised with delicate floral patterns and the Chinese shou (a symbol for happiness), handle plates shaped like lucky bats, a large drop-down door opening to a large interior for storing blankets or clothes and three upper drawers. Korean ceramic bowl from the Goryeo dynasty, 12-14th century. The interior of the bowl is decorated with ducks and willow trees encircling the well which is embellished with blossoms. The exterior is decorated with a band of scrolling waves, flanking floral roundels. Old restoration. It measures 7.75" wide.

Beautiful Northern Korean bandaji (blanket storage chest) with highly ornate white brass fittings incised with birds and flowers and auspicious symbols. The white brass plated mounts are cladded onto the front of the chest hinged to allow operation of the drop leaf door. The chest has two handles on the side for mobility and two handles on the front to aid in operation of the door.

A small Korean personal chest with dramatic Elm hardwood front panels. The top set of doors opens to an inner compartment with carved hardwood border, and six small drawers. The middle doors and lower drop-down lid open to a large compartment lined in Korean paper. The upper and lower set of doors are book-matched so the natural woodgrain appears to mirror itself. The piece is fully detailed with brass hardware and plates.
