Extremely rare: Korean Amamori Chawan of Choson (Yi) Dynasty (1392-1910). Wan shaped tea bowl, thrown from light, refined clay, with very little iron oxide, covered with a white feldspatic glaze with fine crackles and pin holes including the small foot.

Through many years of use the tea has seeped through the holes and crack to discolour the white clay body underneath, creating an effect called amamory - rain leak. The effect is especially strong along the rim...

Antique Korean bojagi, wrapping cloth made of silk. This type of bojagi is specifically called min-bo or chogak bo since it is made of a patchwork of silk scraps. Bojagi is a long standing Korean tradition used to cover and/or carry a multitude of things from household items to precious ritual objects. Antique Korean gat, a tall cylindrical hat woven of horsehair with a wide brim. Framed with thin, black lacquered bamboo and with a ribbon for securing under the chin. Black gat were traditionally reserved for men of noble status who had passed the gwageo civil service exams. This hat comes with a custom metal stand.

Antique Korean sewing box made using the 1500 year old Korean paper technique called Hanji. Paper is made by hand from mulberry pulp and used to fashion various items. This 8 sided box is decorated with Double Happiness symbols and stands on four feet made of sea shells.

Antique Korean herbalist's medicine chest. Standing on low feet, this chest has 51 drawers and a small compartment at the very bottom opened by sliders. Each drawer is labeled in Korean and has a small metal ring for a drawer pull. The inside of the drawers are divided into two sections.
