This is a rain jacket of the high-quality indigo dyeing cloth with splashed pattern cotton of the Edo era. The lining is indigo dyeing striped cotton cloth. The cloth with splashed pattern pattern is a referee's fan and a hat. The Western hat was a stylish item of the gentlemen at that time. There are a few stains to the hem. There is no damage. The cotton is spun by hand. Size: 92cm x 368cm (36.2 "x 144.8cm")

This is a very fine and unusual Japanese Satsuma vase with relief figures. The work on this piece is highly detailed and the gold thickly applied. The Dragon and clouds are decorated with silver. The piece is in very good condition will minor wear. The Artist signature is the most worn area on the piece. With magnification it can be seen that it is signed Fuzan but it is very hard to make out. I have included a similar Fuzan mark for comparison. The vase stands 8 1/2 inches tall.

An antique Japanese imari ware covered basin. The basin is decorated with traditional auspicious Japanese motifs such as pine, bamboo, plum, and cranes. Along with the auspicious motifs are designs often seen with imari wares such as scrolling vines and chrysanthemum-like patterns. Spectacular Meiji Period maru obi c.1900. Woven on both sides with a jacquard loom, the blue/green dyes make this a superb example of a Kyoto style obi. The motifs are fans with pine, plum, bamboo, chrysanthemum and cranes; all auspicious symbols of happiness and good fortune. Excellent condition. Can be made into table runners or hangings. Ryoumensome could use both sides, but the quantity of the work of the dyeing was double. Most Katazome dyes only one side. Pale Sunset colors show mottled through the grays of this fine vase by important Hagi artist Kaneta Masanao enclosed in the original signed wooden box. It is 10 x 7 x 8 inches (25 x 18 x 21 cm) and is in fine condition.
Masano likely needs no introduction, certainly one of Hagi is most well known names, he has been displayed both nationally and internationally innumerable times...

It is a silk kimono made in Akita region in the latter half in the Meiji era. In the times when better quality was found in the Meiji era, this is a superior expensive item. Our Kutsu / gutsu gata ( shoe shaped ) tea bowl is made of iron bearing Karatsu clay.

Its fastly but expertly thrown body is glazed inside and outside, with the exception of the bottom including the roughly cut foot ring with an ash glaze which has some Feldspat mixed in glaze...
