An image of the sleeping Shojo (sake Sprite) by the 12th generation Sakaida Kakiemon enclosed in the original signed wooden box titled Taihaku Shojo Bori Okimono. The ordinarily playful figure is performed in pure white, a serene look upon his sleeping face creating an almost holy feeling, the ladle fallen at his knee, leaning against a barrel of sake, the empty jar the only color. The image is 31 x 21 x 16 cm (12 x 8 x 6 inches) and is in excellent condition...

Vintage Japanese Showa period ink and color on paper scrolled painting of trees by Uda Tekison (1896-1980). The black ink signature and red artist’s “Tazen” seal are at the lower right. This is a vintage large rare Maneki Neko (beckoning cat) made in the Tokoname kiln region of Japan. Entirely hand painted and hand made, it is a very large size to bring an abundance of good luck to its owner. Designed as a coin bank, its original paper coin stopper is still intact. Japanese kappazuri stencil print by the artist Yoshitoshi Mori. Mori developed his distinct style using the kappazuri print technique and grew to fame, exhibiting his work around the world. His distinct style shows how he was influenced by his work as a textile designer and dyer of kimono fabric, a job he had when he first graduated from art school. This print shows figures under a row of lanterns on Nakamise Street in Asakusa. Signed in pencil and unframed...

Cotton cloth which used to be obi (sash) for a casual kimono. It has hand-drawn tsutsugaki design. It was "Nagoya obi" which was invented in early 20th century to make it easier to tie in the traditional style. In good condition but has folded line in the center (about a half length ) and some stains in the back. Mid 20th century. 32.5cm x 4m28cm

A vintage mid century 2 section Kamo Isho Tansu made entirely of Kiri (Paulownia) wood. All original bronze hardware including the central Peony flower lock plates on the doors and the arabesque back plates to the drawer handles. Constructed using dovetail joinery and hardened wooden nails. Behind the hinged doors of the upper section is housed 6 full width Kimono trays and two Obi trays with 3 small drawers for fashion accessories like Tabi, Kami-kazari and Himo...

Tea Ceremony Seto Chaire Tea Caddy of cylindrical form with slightly tapering sides, covered with a light chocolate brown and a running mottled black glaze. Ivory lid lined with gold leaf on the inside. Signed: Hikari. It comes with a silk shifuku storage pouch. Size: H 9,5 x 6 cm. Taisho -Showa period. Good Condition!
