An interesting and modern vase of raw, hard-fired clay with natural fire pattern by Terada Teppei (b. 1975). The gaping, irregular sprout stricking outline some sort of volcanic vent. Shaped as a bamboo root, it is one of the “Carbon trapped” series. Signed on the bottom: Fe (Teppei’s signature on his carbon-fired pieces). Terada Teppei is son of Terada Yasuo 4th generation of the Bizan Kiln in Seto, Aichi. Enclosed in the inscribed and signed box with paper, made in 2010. H 23.5 cm...

Jiro Yonezawa attended the Beppu Vocational Arts Training Center in 1981 and spent a year as an apprentice to Masakazu Ono. Later on, he continued his training at the Oita Prefectural Beppu Industrial Art Research Institute. He lived and worked in the United States from 1989 to 2007...
