Japanese could not produce wool of their own during the Edo period. Totally depending on Nanban trading, wool was pretty rare and pricey commodity. The liner for this jacket is also unusual. This is our first and only antique marble dyed fabric ever...

$7300.00 Japanese Edo Period Musha Ningyo (Boys Day) Dolls, Samurai Set. Ningyo this early
almost never appear for sale, much less with accessories, as we have here
with this very fine quality pair. They have finely carved faces, and are
lacquered with many coats of gofun (white oyster shell pigment). They are adorned with
sumptuous silk brocades and silk armor, indicative of Edo Period Ningyo
artistry. Tallest Ningyo: 19 inches (48.25cm).

Sold A Japanese carved and lacquered wood figure of a Buddhist Guardian. (Originally part of a small scale group comprised of at least a central figure and pair of acolytes.) Up to 12 such guardian figures are possible in a temple grouping. Condition is good and presentable with one small loss of wood to one sleeve and some minor lacquer losses. Missing are a nimbus and possibly an ornament atop the helmet. Height: 9 3/8 inch (23.8cm) including a 3/16 (1.9cm) inch high base to which it is affixed.

It is an elegant design with good history of the bamboo and bamboo shoots. All embroideries are the hands. There is no stain. There is one very little small hole. However, it is very good.
I recommend it for your collection.

sold thank you This is Edo yosegire Patchwork itajime katazome chirimen-silk kimono in Edo period(1603-1868). This is very beautiful yosegire kimono. In the skirt part of the lining, it is cotton and there is damage. There is a little, thin stain. However, it is not remarkable. I recommend this for your collection.

sold thank you This is Indigo dye cotton tsutsugaki furoshiki textile of the Edo era(1800-1867). It is a very beautiful crane and a lucky design of the tortoises.It is a characteristic of tsutsugaki of the Edo era that the ear of the tortoise is expressed like a dragon.
There is a thin stain. There is not damage. It is in a very good state. It is made of hand-spun cotton and natural dyed.
