Superb chinese fluorite carving of Guanyin with a weight of 2,1 kg, made around 1750. It is Jade green in areas and almost clear in others and it shows the numerous flaws running through so stone typical of so-called green quartz (actually fluorite). It is raised on a hardwood stand, which is forming the torso of the Guanyin.

Wonderful and unusual display piece with a cubistic aesthetic - definitely singular.

1900's Chinese Foochow Coral Red Lacquer Wood Carved Scholar Brush Rest with Beast

It is 1.8 inches (4.5 cm) tall by 9.25 inches (23.5 cm) in length by 0.98 inch (2.5 cm) wide. It is 0.3 lb.

It has minor rubbing of paint, peeling of lacquer, and surface wears and scratches (as seen in the photos).

The two women pictured on the calendar are actually men dressed as women as women were not permitted at that time to pose for these posters. Size: Poster. 74 x50.3cm. Frame. 102.5 x 88.2cm.
