This plaque must have been part of a scholar's screen. It is carved in a Duan stone of 2 layers of different colors. An ochre layer and a brown layer. The brown layer is carved in depth until the ochre layer appears. The decoration is thus cut in brown on an ochre background.Qing period 19° century or earlier. On the reverse side we can see the traces of the tool which should give indications for a more precise dating. Accident, broken and glued again. 206 x 302 x 8 mm

A late 18/19th Century QING DYNASTY ENAMEL BOX with ultramarine blue background and fine Polychrome Flower and Pomegranate decorations. The interior of box, including the lid and the base are in a light turquoise enamel. The top depicts 2 people in a landscape scene. Very good condition, no chips, damage or restorations. Size: H. 6 cm x L. 8 cm.

Rare porcelain or (porcelain stoneware?) dish from China, from the 17th century or before. The ceramic is thick and solid, the decoration of peonies is incised then painted in turquoise and aubergine enamels. The incised lines of the design demarcated surfaces comprising the enamels mixing during firing. The peonies are treated simply and energetically, the artist has gone to the essential, his drawing is powerful...

Porcelain vase of china enamelled of blue. Square form carrying 2 handles elephant heads in relief. Mark in cobalt blue of qianlong under the base. Pierced and long crack on one side (visible on photo). Beautiful enamel blue night. Seems to us without problem of the period. Height: 30cm

A cheerful family outing adorns this rich and colorful display of a day out in the country side. Dated to the late 19th and just prior to 1891. The ginger jar is in excellent condition without chips, hairlines, with very little rubbing of the details, hardly noticeable at all. It comes with a well formed lid that is beautifully designed. 7 inches high without lid (8.5" with lid) x 7" diameter.

A large rouleau vase of porcelain decorated with the Three Auspicious Gods (sanxing) of Daoism, in polychrome enamel glazes (famille verte style) on a deep, blue ground. Excellent quality of work. China, late Qing to early Republican Period, ca. 1900–1925. Marked with a Kangxi-period nianhao. H 46 cm. Condition: Excellent.

A simple line drawing of the portrait of the founder of the Chinese communist party, Mao Zedong. The work is attributed to an artist named Li Qi (1928-2009). Li Qi is known for composing portraits of important political figures in China and developing his distinct style within Modern Chinese art. Age: 1960-1970. Size: Height 25.5" Width 19.5"

Unsigned acrylic/oil portrait of a woman worker acquired from a Hong Kong auction. I am assuming this was painted while China and Russia were still friends so would date this pre 1960. Good example of Socialist Realism (girl meets tractor) kitsch, W: 35cm/13.8in and H: 45.cm/17.8in.

Green glazed pottery stye, containing 5 moulded goats, a typical burial gift from the Han Dynasty (206BC-220AD).  Diameter 22 cm. H. 7 cm. Condition: iridescent glaze with normal age wear. Ex private collection The Hague, collected in the 90’s.

A rare and complete group of an ox and carriage in grey pottery with remains of polychrome. China, Tang Dynasty (618-907). The result of the thermoluminescence test by Kotalla is consistent with the dating of this lot. The report is included in the sale. Dimensions: the carriage H. 32 cm, L. 23 cm, the ox H. 18 cm, L. 23 cm. Condition: very good, no visible repairs, although repairs on early pottery are quite common and accepted. This rare group dates from the early Tang Dynasty. It's made of grey pottery and it has traces of painting ( see the back of the cart ). The ox is very well proprtioned and was made with an eye for detail: notice the ring in the nose and the tail curved around its body. The cart consists of three parts; the weels come off. The three pieces have been mounted on a professional stand. Dimensions: the ox : height 18 cm, length 24 cm, the cart: height 31 cm, length 23 cm, width 17 cm...
