A small Nabeshima plate or bowl decorated with three stylized chrysanthemun medaillons among radial motifs. The back showing the "shippo" pattern with ribbons and foot ring with comb pattern in underglaze blue. Condition: fine, minimal wear, no restorations, hairlines or chips. Antique bronze figure of seated Avalokiteshvara Bodhisattva finely cast and skillfully hand chased, 18th century, China.

Bodhisattva sits in dhyanasana on a lotus base. The hands are held in dhyana mudra, dressed in layered robes and arrayed in beaded jewelry, with a jeweled necklace, large pendant earrings, and an elaborate crown.

Quadrangular vase in very thick and heavy porcelain stoneware covered with pâle blue glaze (Jun?)splashed with yellowish-brown stains (oil spots?). Interior also glazed. 118x50x75 mm Good condition, slight usual wear, no cracks or restoration. Cooking defects at the corners of the base. Possibly Jun with oil spot of the song period.

A deeply carved Chinese cinnabar seal paste box measuring about 2.75 inches diameter and 1" high. It is a superb example of early bright red cinnabar lacquer. Being 225 years old, it has been very well kept. Dates circa 1780.

Japanese Yama Chawan (literally 'Mountain Tea Bowl'), biscuit firing ware with impressive natural glaze and slightly distorted form. It dates back to the Kamakura Period (1185 - 1333). Highlight is the inside design with a Japanese Koi image which was added by a former owner as a kind of Kintsugi to close a damage on the inside surface. Such typ of Kintsugi is definitely rare.

You can also find traces of the famous kai-yu glaze on this excavated piece.
