A large Chinese snuff bottle, made of molded porcelain decorated with enamels. Both sides showing a cartouche with two persons in an interior. With gilt mouth, the base with an ironred four character "Qianlong mark". The stopper is lost. Condition: traces of usage, mouthrim minimally pitted. Furoshiki (wrapping cloth) with tsutsugaki kamon (family crest), Maruni-Yotsume. It is made of hand spun cotton and vegetable indigo dyed. It has indigo color bleeding in the kamon. It is not sure whether it is original dye, or bleeding from washing, however, it gives some depth and taste. Generally in good condition but has some breaks and some tiny holes. Pure Kuro-Raku Tsutsu Chawan by the 9th generation Raku Ryonyu (Raku Kichizaemon IX) 楽了入 (9代 楽吉左衛門) enclosed in an antique wooden box and made around the beginning of 19th century about 200 years ago during the Edo era. His strong seal is engraved beside the foot ring.

This Raku chawan is particularly endowed with a structural power deriving from simple composition of features of a bowl - another reminiscence of the earlier generations of this unique family of art...
