This fine and rare pottery jar was made during Western Han Dynasty (206 BC - AD 8) or possibly a little earlier. It is made from a relatively highly-fired fine-grained grey pottery and has a burnished surface, very smooth to the touch. The wide body is decorated with two raised bands around the waist that have been impressed with geometric patterns. Around the shoulder there are two bands of impressed lines. Above the short neck is a ver... A rectangular porcelain snuff bottle, finely painted with ladies in a mountainous landscape respectively in a garden. Enameled in the "Famille rose" palette, the sides with stylized dragon heads between lattice work in overglaze blue. The mouthrim with gilding residue, the stopper made of amber-imitating material, bone spoon. Condition: mouthrim slightly chipped, wear to decoration, some fritting. Bowl with a carved centralized flower inside upright sprays, bordered by combed lines and is covered overall in a green celadon glaze, except for the base.
Measurements: diameter (7.5”inches) across.

Featuring a compressed globular body with a short neck that flares to a thick upper flanged rim and a chicken head spout opposite a curved handle. Two lug handles are set on its shoulders and it is covered overall with a green ‘Yue’ celadon glaze except for the base.
