An eye catching multi-colored jade carving of a koi fish leaping from the water amongst a grouping of lotus plants. Sculpture carved out of the root section of a keyaki tree. A fox looking back. The roots that grew downwards form the legs, a small root growing horizontally forms the tail. The base section was originally the hollow trunk, filled in with an oval piece of keyaki (zelkova) wood. Wood polished.
