The toad or frog (kaeru) is associated with good luck and wealth. Kaeru means both "toad" or "frog" and "to come home" in Japanese. Round hare in bronze with a dark brown patina, standing on two legs. In Japanese, the hare and the rabbit are referred to by a single word: usagi. The animal is one of the twelve animals of the zodiac in Sino-Japanese astrology. It also plays a role in many folk tales and legends. A symbol of longevity, it is supposed to reach a fabulous age and turn blue at five hundred years years old.

The cast of this large incense burner is of beautiful quality, the walls are very thin, the carvings are precise and the finish neat. The shape is atypical, of great elegance. Hard porcelain dishes from the Jindezhen kilns made for export. This is a japanese antique bengara dye cotton belt textile edo period(1800-1867).It is hand spun and feels very warm to the touch. There is very slight discoloration, but nothing significant. No damage. size:length:1㎝(53.9inch) / Width:7cm (2.75inch)

Tibetan antique Buddhist conch shell trumpet (sankha). The shell is wrapped in silver which has an intricate repoussé design of scrolling vines and auspicious objects. It is inset with small cabochons of coral, turquoise and lapis. The conch shell itself is considered auspicious. It represents the deep, melodious sound of the Buddha's voice which wakes up disciples "from the slumber of ignorance".

Japanese antique eight lobed dish with gold and shell inlaid lacquer (shibayama). Each lobe is decorated in makie, the flora and fauna of the four seasons with archaic designs set in between. The central area of the dish is depicting a female figure holding a lotus with a child attendant holding a bouquet of lotuses. The bottom is crafted in nashiji lacquer with a gold lacquer signature set in a medallion motif reading: Kaneko Zo, or Produced by Kaneko.
