Below, the Amemiya sou (雨宮宗) factory seal.
The toad or frog (kaeru) is associated with good luck and wealth. Kaeru means both "toad" or "frog" and "to come home" in Japanese. This extension of meaning is due to the toad's ability to return each year to the pond of its birth. A gong in the shape of a toad can thus sometimes be used as a door hammer or to protect a house.

Price on Request Japanese antique eight lobed dish with gold and shell inlaid lacquer (shibayama). Each lobe is decorated in makie, the flora and fauna of the four seasons with archaic designs set in between. The central area of the dish is depicting a female figure holding a lotus with a child attendant holding a bouquet of lotuses. The bottom is crafted in nashiji lacquer with a gold lacquer signature set in a medallion motif reading: Kaneko Zo, or Produced by Kaneko.
