The Kura
sold An exquisite lidded jar of turned wood covered in black lacquer and decorated with golden plum blossoms wrapped in a silk pouch and enclosed in an old kiri-wood box. 19th century, it is 6 cm (2-1/4 inches) diameter, 7 cm (just less than 3 inches) tall and in excellent condition.
An elegant Satsuma gosu koro, resting on three feet, with a perforated lid. The three fan-shaped reserves are embellished with naturalistic details.
Signed under the base.
Period: Meiji late 19th century.
Dimensions: 14 x 12.5 cm.
Condition: Excellent. There are slight signs of wear consistent with the age.

These late Nabeshima small dishes are decorated with daikon radish and leaves in an all-over relief pattern. The thick celadon glaze brings out the daikon pattern well and gives it a unique atmosphere. The daikon radish pattern can also be found in blue & white and polychrome pcs but it is most often seen on celadon ware.
19th Century Late Edo period 14.5cm dia. x 7.5cm An infrequently seen, lockable gilt silver casket, decorated with filigree plus blue and green enamel, made in Canton at the end of the 19th century. The top with two dragons among clouds chasing the flaming pearl, in the middle an empty monogram cartouche. The sides showing enamelled pagoda landscapes. The lock is working.
