This tall and impressive pottery figure was made during the Western Han Dynasty (206 BC - AD 8). It is made from quite a high-fired grey pottery that has been coated in a white slip on top of which have been applied various coloured pigments, very good traces of which still remain. The figure represents an attendant or servant, standing upright and alert, hands together under a flowing robe. Note the detail of th... A pierced Chinese jade pendant, showing a parrot. The jade is cloudy and of a pale celadon color. Attached to a silk cord tied with two endless knots, and a small agate pearl, ending in one tassels. Condition: few traces of usage, one tassel lost. Dimension: pendant c. 5.8 x 5.3 x 0.5 cm, total length with tassels c. 27 cm. Please note: the stone is in reality a bit glossier than on the pictures.

A set of five Ichirin sashi (Single Flower) vases by Kitagawa Kazuki enclosed in the original signed wooden box titled Iro-me Ichirin-sashi, each with a different color inside, the outside ground down like melting ice revealing the layers of colored clay beneath. They are 5.5 cm (2 inches) diameter, 13.5 cm (5-1/2 inches) tall and in perfect condition, directly from the artist.

sold A fabulous lacquered urn covered in black with soaring phoenix (Ho-o) with a lid lacquered around the edges but showing the raw, aged wood of the top enclosed in a wooden box dated 1924 stating it was made using Kozai (repurposed wood) from the Ho-o Do of Byodoin Temple in Uji. Inside is completely covered in Nashiji gold powder. It is 9 cm (3-1/2 inches) Diameter, 5 cm (2 inches) tall and in perfect condition.
