A small Japanese antique butsudan, a Buddhist altar for personal use inside a home or business. Beautifully carved and lacquered. The exterior doors open to reveal another pair of lattice doors. These open to an all gold lacquer altar with pillars and painted phoenixes floating in swirling mist. On the altar are two small separate bronze vases with gold metal lotus blossoms and a little bronze bell on a little silk cushion.
The bottom portion of the Butsudan has a drawer for storage.
