Antique Korean two section stacking personal chest with base. The front is made with hardwood burl (probably mulberry). Each section has a large compartment opened by two hinged doors. Silver colored hardware is made of chased brass.

A small Chinese porcelain plate decorated with famille rose enamel depicting a foo dog playing with a colorful ball. A six characters Qianlong mark is on the bottom and it was made in the period. The Plate is in perfect condition. Diameter: 6".

A pair undone antique Chinese sleeve bands, bordered with a black band and green cotton lining. The wine-red silk ground finely embroidered in Pekinese stitch, some detalis in satin stitch and couched metal threads, showing figures, maybe immortals in a landscape. Dimension: c. 111 cm x 37.5 cm. Condition: fine, only few stains.

Wonderful distorted shoe shaped (kutsugata) tea bowl made of light, fine, unrefined Mino clay. Shape and style make it appear contemporary with the late Oribe bowls. The expertly thrown body is covered with the typical black oniita engobe inside and outside - with the exception of the bottom - over which a white, feldspatic Shino glaze has been poured.

Just the foot ring and its immediate surrounding was left unglazed. The decoration scratched into the iron oxide engobe is very uniq...

A young Maiko parts the curtains of an Okiya Tea-house entrance, perhaps on her way to training, or to begin a night of traditional entertainment through song and dance. Pigment and ink on silk in a fine brocade border with lacquered red wooden rollers. It is 25 x 78 inches (63.5 x 198 cm). There is some loss to the gofun in the center where it was obviously folded once before being mounted in its current state.

Basket made of bark of hiba, a family of the Japanese cypress. It is used by a mountain worker, and tools, lunch or collected mushrooms are put in. In good condition except for a few breaks in the rim. The first half of the 20th century. W:28cm H:31cm

A very rare figure of a Tang lady seated on a barrel stool in a long robe and large hairdo gently holding a dog. Original Tang figures look beautiful at all angles. Made of a fine red colored clay, it was originally painted but the slip and color have worn away revealing only the clay underneath.

Condition: The original head had broken off when found but has been re-attached.

Standing Dharma by Korea's Renowned Buddhist Monk Painter Seok Jeong Sunim (1928-2012). This is an excellent example of why Seok Jeong is widely regarded as Korea's master of Zen Buddhist art.
