Rare Song celadon circa 10th CE, from the Longquan Kiln, Zhejiang. The glaze is a deep even light olive green, with clear lightly incised floral pattern on the underside. There is one hairline glaze firing crack in the cavetto which is visible about 2cm on either side of the footrim but does not go all the way through- noted in enlargements. D: 14.8cm/5.8in and H: 4.3cm/1.7in.

This yosegire silk kimono was worn at the end of the Edo period (circa 1860). It is made from high-quality silk fabrics commonly used for uchikake (traditional Japanese kimono) of the time. A sake set in raw Iga clay covered in natural ash glaze by Atarashi Manabu enclosed in the original signed wooden boxes titled Iga Shinogi Gokaku Guinomi and Iga Shinogi Tokkuri respectively. The Tokkuri is 7.5 x 8 x 14.5 cm (roughly 3 inches diameter, 5-3/4 inches tall). The Guinomi 6.5 x 7 x 6 cm (2-1/2 inches diameter, roughly the same height) and both are in excellent condition.
