Japanese bronze incenser in the form of Hotei, one of the Seven Lucky Gods of Fortune. Hotei is clothed with open robes, holding a gunbai fan, seated on top of his large sack. Hotei's name literally means "Cloth Sack", for he can be attributed by the large cloth sack he carries with him during his travels. He is also known as the Laughing Buddha due to his carefree happy nature despite being a wanderer with few material possessions.

This very well carved two-tone hard stone snuff bottle is a 1980's product. It depicts an old sage chatting with a young man under a pine tree. It is 3" high, 2" wide and 1 3/8" thick with a red carnelian and silver rim cap. It is in great condition.

The carved overlay glass snuff bottle is an early 20th century product. The red over clear glass snuff bottle is 2 ¾” high, 1 5/8” wide and 3/4” thick. Both sides have the same design which depicts a blossom tree. It has a light carnelian cap which is a later replacement. It is in great condition.

This beautiful and well hollowed black hair crystal snuff bottle is a mid-20th century product. It is 2 1/2" high,1 3/8" wide and 5/8" thick with a red carnelian cap. Aside from a small chip on the top rim, it is in very good condition.

This old carved amber snuff bottle is a late 19th century product. On one side, it depicts a Ling Zhi (靈芝) growing from behind a rock; on the other side, there is a magical beast. It is 2" high, 1 1/2" wide at the widest part and 1" thick. It is in great condition

Remnants of yellow glaze covers this Heishi (Heiji) bottle form from the Owari-Seto area engraved clearly about the neck with three lines. A quintessential Kamakura pot. There is much degradation to the glaze typical of Seto which has withstood a millennium of earthquake, fire, war and abuse. That anything survives so long in Japan is miraculous. It is 9-1/2 inches (24 cm) tall, 6-1/2 inches (16.5 cm) diameter and comes wrapped in old cloth in an old wooden box.

Ink on paper in a patterned cloth mounting with beige piping in the Mincho style so popular int eh 19th century and featuring bone rollers. It is 21-1/2 x 78-1/2 inches (55 x 199 cm).
