Sold A very rare Chinese jade of a stylized bird. The jade is translucent of a green and brown mottled coloration. Carved with a minimum of design giving an it a minimalistic, abstract look. It has large convex circles for eyes. The back has two interconnecting holes for passing a string through. The back has a naturally occurring hairline fissure of a dark reddish brown coloration. Has some calcification from long burial.
Size: H = 1-3/8", W = 1-3/4"

Sold, thank you Autumn colors by Goto Shiro in thick pigment on silk in a superb patterned-silk frame with solid ivory rollers. It comes in the original signed wooden box with a Futo-maki rolling bar titled Yudonoyama Banshu (Late Autumn at Mt. Yudono). This is representational of Nihonga in the 1950s, a time when artists were seeking a new direction, breaking with the past and expanding the limits of the medium. It is 25-1/2 x 86 inches (65 x 218 cm) and in fine condition.

sold, thank you Ame-yu graces the rough textured clay of this large Mingei platter from Aizu in the Northern reaches of Japan on the border between Fukushima and Yamagata. Often mistakenly identified as Tamba due to the similarity in the coloring of this particular glaze, the underlying granular white clay gives it away.
