An antique Japanese Edo era Ko Tansu (personal storage chest) made entirely of Kirinoki (Paulownia) wood. All original finish and hand made iron fittings. Made with straight dovetail joinery and hardened wooden nails. Original used to store daily documents, ephemera, small utilitarian accessories and personal items. Present day uses include using it as a small side table or a bedside nightstand.

An antique Japanese low Mizuya Tansu (kitchen chest) made of Hinoki (Cypress) and Suginoki (Cryptomeria). Two sliding doors open to a spacious storage area with a removable shelf. Originally this chest was used for the storage of water jars. Present day uses would include doubling as a stereo cabinet or acting as a beautiful buffet.

When the founder of the Urasenke style of tea ceremony, Senso Soshitsu (1622 -1697) was invited to Kanazawa as the lord of the tea ceremony for the powerful Kaga lords in 1666, the first Chozaemon came with him and established Ohi-yaki ware in Kanazawa. An Unusual Japanese Imari Ship Bowl. Decorated in the centre and with a trading vessel below panels of Dragons and Ho Ho Birds. The exterior with the same vessel between European figures. 19thc. Diameter: 24.5 cm. condition: shallow chip to exterior of the foot, and some flakes to the red enamel.

Painting, distemper and gold on cloth of the Medicine Buddha. Wearing a monks patched robe. Flanked by two similarly robed monks, probably his disciples Sariputra and Maudgalyayana. Both hold alms bowls and the monk's staff. 64x45 cm. Undated, estimated to be late 19th century or earlier. Can be viewed in central London and shipped worldwide.

A round shaped silver lingam box (ayigalu or shivadhara) with its original chain. A neck amulet once worn by a wealthier lay member of the Lingayat sect in South India. Markings. An antique Japanese Kimono Kasane Tansu (stacking chest on chest) made entirely of Kirinoki (Paulownia) wood. Original hand made iron fittings with an open ceremonial fan design on the lock plates and Hirute drawer handles. Recessed hidden side handles on the upper section. The bottom section features slightly exposed side handles serving a dual purpose both as carrying handles as well as locking connections to the upper half of the tansu.

An antique Japanese Chobako (merchant storage box) made of Kurinoki (Chestnut) and Suginoki (Cryptomeria) woods. All original hand made iron fittings including the Hirute drawer handles and the Warabite carrying handle.
