Finely detailed woman’s full length four paneled tube sarong from Ende, Flores Island, Indonesia. I bought this in 1988, this was used when I bought in Ende and has remained in storage since then. All natural dyes and handspun, hand woven cotton. Pristine condition with soft and comfortable weave. W: 130cm/51in And L: 170cm/6.7in.
DESCRIPTION: An attractive Asian fishing creel, fashioned from woven split bamboo with wood base and neck, and an attached tightly woven string for hanging. A creel is used for carrying fish or blocks of peat moss which function as an evaporative cooler when dipped into a creek, keeping the catch chilled. This type of creel with a woven, partially open top can also be used to catch lobsters and other crustaceans. Good condition with a nice aged patina...
A small statue depicting Buta Nawasari, a good-natured demon, often found as guardian in the front of temples or important buildings in Bali. Carved from hardwood with nice patina. Provenance: Private Collection, Switzerland. Condition: some cracks. Dimension: 24.3 cm high.
A Tibetan round burl root wood container. The top surface of the lid is flattened with low relief carved rings. Inside the container has been lacquered in black, the edges of the container with traces of red pigment.

Unique Lanna Thai excavated gray terra cotta pipe bowl from Chiang Mai, in the shape of an elephant’s head. Clay pipes are fairly ubiquitous archeological artifacts found throughout much of the “Golden Triangle” and have been dated as far back as 12thCE Pagan, Burma. I can find no references of them being produced by any of the well documented Thai kiln sites, so in way these are quite enigmatic in that they seem to be everywhere but know one knows where they are from...

Three old or antique Indonesian dance masks, showing three different characters. The dark red mask from Java and the two others from Bali. Carved from wood, painted and decorated with fur. Condition: some chips and wear, one with small losses. Dimension: c. 18 to 20 cm long x c. 13.5 cm wide.
Seated in bhumisparsa mudra, on a gilded hardwood pedestal. H. 30 cm. Very good condition with expectec age wear and a very nice patina.

Rare semi antique supplementary warp silk embroidery on handspun indigo cotton, blanket from the diverse Tai ethnic group Vietnam/Laos. I collected this in Chiang Mai around 15 years ago and would date it around 50 to 90 years old. Nowadays you just can’t find this sort of textile anymore. Some minor embroidery losses but overall in very good condition. Dimensions: 80cm/31.5in x 137cm/53in.
