The elegant black horn hilt with fingerstalls and crested karabela-type pommel, the fine, sinuous blade multi-fullered on the obverse and inscribed in gold, the reverse with a single narrow fuller at the spine and a panel of gold inlay in intertwining vine motifs. In its wooden scabbard covered entirely in embossed and chased silver displaying Ottoman baroque flowering vine motifs and terminating in a monster head finial. Forged of steel with rounded rim, the surface lavishly inlaid in gold scroll-work intertwined with silver flowering vines. With hinged buckles. First half of the 19th century. Light wear, two buckles lacking. Overall height 26.7 cm. Condition II

Very serene Lacquer SHAN STATE Buddha Head with traces of gilding. Hollow, mounted on removable temporary base. Ushnisha-Flame also removable and probably from a later date. Very good condition. Size: H. 44 cm. x W. 22 cm. x D. 19 cm. Large size Buddha heads such as this one have become very rare and difficult to find.

A very fine gilded bronze Buddha, sitting on Naga. H. 17 cm. Condition: Casting flawa, chips to the foot rim, the Naga head, which used to be behind the Buddha head, is missing. Nevertheless a very attractive piece with a serene expression.

Ayutthaya period Bronze Buddha, Siam, mounted, most likely survived the destruction of this ancient Thai capital by the Burmese in 1767, with some parts of the bronze statue partially melted (see photographs).
