Vietnamese 14th Century Underglazed Bowl

This bowl was made during the 14th century. It has a flared rim and has been decorated in underglaze cobalt with floral and scrolling patterns. In the centre of the inner surface are five spur marks. It is coated in a very-finely crackled clear glaze that has hint of green. Although there is no repair or restoration, there are three small rim chips and two hairline cracks...

Exceptionally rare small storage jar with typical Burmese style floral scrolls under a green tin based glaze. Probably originally from the Mon, Pegu (Bago) kiln. Large Khmer pedestal jar circa 12th century with dark brown glaze. This piece has a large restoration to the top - normally the neck would be much longer but this has taken the piece from another, of the period jar, and attached it to this. Overall the glaze is excellent on this piece and has retained its elegance. H: 30cm/12in and D: 23cm/9in. This piece is quite heavy and weighs 3.5kg.

Small wide mouth grey pottery jar with “soy” brown glaze from an unknown Southern Kiln. The glaze resembles Jizhou ware. Circa Song Dynasty or earlier, the body is quite thinly potted with delicate lugs near the mouth. There is fritting on the mouth and handle but no cracks or chips. H: 9cm/3.5in and D: 6cm/2.3in.

Rare Thai / South East Asian 16th / 17th Century Celadon Bowl

This bowl is "heavily-potted" and has a particularly high-pitched ring when tapped. It is coated in a dark olive-coloured celadon glaze with traces of "golden-brown" here and there. The glaze is crackled in places. The recessed flat base remains unglazed revealing the body that has fired to a reddish-brown. To the base are the marks of the "pontil" on which this bowl was placed in the kiln during firing...
