This unusual stoneware jar was made during the 11th century. It is quite heavily-potted with a sturdy pedestal foot. It has a wide body that rises in tiers toward a smaller mouth. The surface is decorated with various raised bands and an incised cross-hatch pattern around the lower shoulder. The glaze is thicker and glossier than on most known similar examples although the crackle of the glaze has become stained, a result of long burial...

$200.00
Rare 4.9cm/1.9in Thai stoneware bowl from the Sankampaeng kiln circa 15th/16th CE with two fish in the center and scalloped cavetto, there is well done repaired chip on the inner rim noted last enlargement. This is a classic and definitive piece for the Sankampaeng kiln as the incised/impressed fish motif is only found on ceramics from this Thai kiln. There are some blue flambé highlights in the center, probably accidental but quite attractive. D: 21.5cm/8.2in and H: 5cm/2in.
Rare globular shaped Northern Song-Jin Dynasty cizhou stoneware jar with stunning abstract scrolling white floral band. This has been dipped in two slips and a light gray glaze. Obviously the glaze has deteriorated quite a bit which is reflected in the price. Everything is stable on this with no cracks or chips. H: 14.2cm/5.7in and D: 14.5in/5.8in
Good Tang Dynasty jar with transparent glaze over cream slip, extending about 1cm below the glaze on white clay body. The clay has a soft feel but is quite hard, the glaze is stable with no fritting. The soil accretions are all original, should clean off with some misting and a light cloth- but I’ll leave that up to the buyer. There is one chip on the rim. Nice small size. H: 12cm/4.8in and D: 12cm//4.8in.

This very rare and unusual stoneware box dates to the 9th or 10th century. It is quite "heavily-potted" and coated both inside and out in a thin transparent pale green glaze.
