This is a Tsutsugaki yuzen day Kimono that was used in the Kyoto area during the Edo period. The landscapes and people are depicted in an idyllic style with the fine lines of Tsutsugaki. The colors are hand-painted with Yuzen-some. The fabric is made of cotton for the warp and tsumugi silk for the weft, giving it a rustic feel. There are no damages or stains. This is a precious Yosegire Kimono made with silk fabric from the Genroku period (1688-1704) using Yuzen dyeing. The perfectly refined Itome glue-resist dyed Tsutsugaki lines on the green silk are as thin and delicate as threads.
