Chinese blanc de chine porcelain statue of Quan Yin, the Buddhist bodhisattva associated with compassion. Her name is short for Guanshiyin, meaning "Observing the Cries of the World." She is seated upon a large wooden seat and wears a gorgeous cascading robe with strands of beads adorning her torso and legs. In her right hand she holds the branch of a willow tree. She is extremely detailed and beautiful. Dates from 19th century. Size: 10" hwight, 3" width

Gorgeous scenic painting by Chinese artist Tsui Chian Tsai of a small town amidst a beautiful mountainous landscape, with a murky, grey sky and delicate white speckles of paint to represent the falling snow. Two large boats are returning to shore, covered in snow from their long trip. Very detailed work with a lot of realism, the artist truly captured the feeling of an extremely cold climate.
