Fine & Rare Chinese Yuan Dynasty Jun Jar (Ex. Grahame Clarke collection)

This fine junyao stoneware jar was made during the Yuan Dynasty (AD 1279 - 1368) and was excavated in the 1990s, or earlier, from Inner Mongolia. Remains of ancient plant growth/roots still adhere to the inner ring of the unglazed foot. It has straight walls that taper in very slightly at the mouth, and stands on a heavy foot...

Sparrow beak milk jug, Chinese export porcelain from late Kangxi or Yongzheng, early 18th century. Imari decoration: underglaze blue and overglaze red plus some gilt. The blue is clobbered - the way it is sometimes seen on the blue and white ginger jars with the classic cracked ice decoration - and the way the circular chrysanthemum flowers have been cut in halves shows Japanese influence. Height "4 ¾ / 12.2 cm. Condition: a hairline to the base of the handle.

Statue of Kuan Yin, wearing diadem and formal dress, holding a lotus bud in her right hand, sitting in "regal repose" on a elevated double lotus throne. Bronze, with fine reddish-green patina. A parcel-gilt silver cricket box and its cover. The body of the box is decorated with embossed flowers in cartouches, and its base is pierced with an intricate lattice design. The lid is also decorated with embossed concentric decorations, at the center with flowers in an octogonal frame, and around the rim with large fowers of various forms.
