Chinese late Qing dynasty rectangular form wood stand with three levels for objects possibly constructed from fragments of temple carvings. The high relief panels feature figures, flowers, and leafy scrolling vines highlighted in gilt and red. Circa 1900. 16 3/4" long x 7 3/8" high x 5" deep. The stand is sturdy and in good, solid overall condition with typical wear for the age. One side is slightly slanted and has a narrow piece of carving missing (see image)...

The bird has perched on a flowering branch and is watching the nuptial flight of a pair of butterflies. Watercolor on silk. Chinese painting from the Republican period or earlier, but could be Japanese from the Meiji-Taisho period. In the lower right corner, the mark of a red seal was discreetly imprinted. Identifying the painter through this mark would allow for a definitive determination. Painting only: 76 x 38 cm. Mounted on cardboard and framed in silk. Good condition, no restoration.

This printed process (plate mark visible) is neither an engraving nor a lithograph, but probably a collotype on laid paper; the laid lines are visible when held up to the light. It appears that some details were touched up with a brush. 397 x 297 mm

Watercolor on paper depicting two ladies strolling, likely a court lady followed by her servant carrying a vase of plum blossoms. Perhaps an allegory for spring? The refined style suggests a very early period, Song dynasty or earlier, but only a specialist could specify a date. The painting, badly damaged with numerous missing sections, was restored in China with the utmost care...

Beautiful Burmese jade inkstone grade "A Fei Cui", with apple green highlights and an elegant carving of the full moon shining through peach blossoms is carved at the top. There is an unpolished blemish on the lower right hand corner on the back. L: 9.2cm/3.6in, W: 5.4cm/2.1in and thickness: .6cm/.2in., 632 carats/grams. Traditional scroll painting Chinese a courtesan putting her make up on in morning. This was painted in the year of the Fire Rat- 1936 or 1996. I would tend put this at the earlier date because the paper shows some age and this has been newly remounted, as well as the style is evoking feeling of a French boudoir. Antique Chinese ceramic water dropper modeled as Li Tieguai, the Drunken Immortal of Daoist tradition. Rendered in a vivid green glaze associated with southern coastal kilns, the figure reclines on his right elbow with eyes closed, a wine vessel resting across his midsection and a sword strapped along his back. When filled, water would have been dispensed through the small opening at the mouth of the vessel to moisten an inkstone as needed for writing or painting...

The figure on the left with the long beard and flowing robes is likely Shouxing (also known as Shou Lao), the personification of longevity. The smaller figure beside him is likely an attendant. Chinese antique scroll painting signed by artist Zhang Mu, (1607-1683). The scene is of a group of horses under a tall, moss-draped tree. A small stream flows down the hillside and birds fly in the sky. The horses are especially beautiful - a dappled one prances in the grass.
