Beautiful Burmese jade inkstone grade "A Fei Cui", with apple green highlights and an elegant carving of the full moon shining through peach blossoms is carved at the top. Antique Chinese ceramic water dropper modeled as Li Tieguai, the Drunken Immortal of Daoist tradition. Rendered in a vivid green glaze associated with southern coastal kilns, the figure reclines on his right elbow with eyes closed, a wine vessel resting across his midsection and a sword strapped along his back. Rare early “si zhi” (four straight lines) style inkstone carved from an old fired brick. The characters on the brick are in an archaic style, no longer in use today. The square shaped flat bottomed inkstone with sloping grinding surface did not become popular until the Song Dynasty, so it is possible this was made into a inkstone long after it was a brick. Chinese are very fond of creating ink stones out of “found objects” such as roof tiles etc...

Reduced from $320 to $160 (50% discount). Olive green glazed water dropper with molded lotus leaf and floral pattern in the shape of a small tea pot. Good condition no damage, possibly a shipwreck recovery piece as the glaze is not shiny. This is from a southern kiln, likely Jingdezhen. The clay is off white with a sugary texture similar to Jiangxi Qingbai glaze. H: 7.3cm/2.9in and D: 8cm/3.1in.

A large and very attractive brushpot (bitong) carved from a cypress wood trunk with the gnarled surface adding to its natural beauty. There are traces all-over of black lacquer. Very good patination all-over. Late Ming to early Qing, 17th century. H 17 cm, W 19 cm. Condition:Good with a few minor cracks. The bottom recently re-made in hardwood (hongmu).

Pair of Chinese late Qing dynasty blue-glazed porcelain brush rests moulded in the form of a five-peaked mountain range and decorated on both sides with flowers and foliage. Circa 1900. Each measures about 3 3/4" long x 2 3/4” high. Very good overall condition. There is a tiny glaze flake at the bottom of the darker brush rest and there is a faint hairline crack extending around the shortest finger on the right side of the lighter brush rest (see enlargements)...
