Inquire for Price Very hard to find Chinese scholar's desk plank. Made of huanghuali wood, the plank has aged beautifully having a wonderful warm golden patina with a beautiful sheen. There are 3 minor age cracks at 3 of the 4 corners. These cracks do not compromise the integrity of this incredible scholar's item, but instead attests to its age. Planks were used to set objects on that a Scholar was using. He could have also used it to display an item or items. Measures 15" x 6.5" x .5"

$800.00 Small deer in cast bronze. The animal is shown lying down. It's a roe, stag or maybe a deer. Very good quality of sculpture. The perfection of the volumes, the search for detail and the neat finish are similar to those that we admire on the Netsuké. This little deer must be a Japanese work rather than a Chinese one, it is impossible to date it with exactness. Probably Edo or earlier. The deer was the protector of Buddhism. 85mm x 54mm
The base pierced with a square hole...

Chinese Famillie rose porcelain Dayazhai plate diameter 10 ", lime green ground finely painted with classic bird and peonies motif, underside painted in copper red glaze and inscribed with four characters.
Diameter" 10" (25 cm).
Good Qingbai teapot/water dropper with lid. This is a robustly potted, unusual squat shape with incised lid (please note pattern on both sides) and hexagonal spout. The spout was probably reattached with minimal loss to glaze, the hairline firing cracks that radiate from the top are in the glaze only and do not go into the body. D: 10.5cm/4.3in and H: 7.8cm/3.1in. The dense “sugary” texture clay indicates this was fired Jiangxi Province, possibly Jingdezhen.

$1,700.00 Snowy landscape, in the foreground pine branches (?) bending under the snow, in the distance a mountain, black crows contrast with the ambient whiteness and grayness of this freezing winter. Watercolor on extremely fine silk canvas. Beautiful composition good mastery of the brush, unfortunately no signature. It's hard to say if it's a Japanese or Chinese creation, but usually on Japanese landscapes when a mountain is represented it's almost always Mount Fuji, which is not the case here...

$7,500.00 The teapot is cast in bronze. The body has the shape of a melon and the spout that of a stylized bird. The handle supports have a typical shape for this period. The handle, which has now disappeared, must have been made of perishable materials, probably braided bamboo fibre. It is exceedingly rare to find a Chinese bronze teapot from this period. It is functional and perfectly pours the tea without uncontrolled drips. Good condition, the lid is crack (see photo), no restoration...

$700.00 Small tripod miniature incense burner of simple form in cast bronze. The two handles are unusually very thin. Below we can see the 6 characters of the reign of Xuande of the Ming Dynasty. The bronze is old, the beautiful patina attests to it. However, it is difficult to date it exactly. Usually the bronzes bearing the mark of Xuande are from the 17th century. A wooden base and lid were added later, probably in the 19th century...
