The clay is stoneware, possibly white Hixing. Chinese work from the Qing Dynasty, 19th century. This type of ceramic is rare. It was pierced to be mounted as a lamp; see photos; otherwise, it is in good condition.

$600.00 Stoneware tile finial covered with yellow glaze. Molded dragon decoration. The dragon's style, mane, claws, eyes, and color indicate that this tile was created at the beginning of the Ming period to cover an imperial palace, probably Xuande or Yonglo.
A very interesting and moving historical document, a testament to one of the most prestigious periods in Chinese history.
All these 15th-century tiles from the imperial palace were replaced; most were destroyed, but some remain in some museums...

Good Cizhou type high fired, well balanced, ovoid soy glazed with russet highlights jar from a northern kiln, circa- Five Dynasties to Northern Song. There is a possible chip on the outer mouthrim (see enlargement)- difficult to tell if this happened after firing or before. There are remnants of kiln supports on the concave foot. H: 9.6cm/3.8in and D: 10.3cm/4in.

Rare soy brown glazed stoneware vessel made in the shape of a grain silo. This basic style are well documented in Qingbai wares but this is the first I have seen in a brown glaze, also it has a fence going around the base which is quite unusual. It is in excellent condition with no repairs, cracks or fritting of the glaze and it is unusually large. H: 24cm/9.5in and D: 18cm/7in. It reminds me a lot of a Jizhou glaze but this seems heavier and more stable.
