Small creamy-white ceramic vase covered with a very thick, crackled sky blue glaze. Flower decoration in famille rose enamels. The rim has been shaded brown with iron oxide. The clay is stoneware, possibly white Hixing. Chinese work from the Qing Dynasty, 19th century. This type of ceramic is rare. It was pierced to be mounted as a lamp; see photos; otherwise, it is in good condition. Height 22 cm.

Fine Chinese Northern Song Dynasty Cizhou Lobed Jar

This attractive stoneware jar was made during the Northern Song Dynasty (AD 960 - 1127) at one of the Cizhou kilns in Hebei province, in the north of China. It is fairly "heavily-potted" with a lobed body and a flared mouth. Both inner and outer surfaces have been coated in a white slip that, on the outer body, falls short of the sturdy foot, revealing the creamy-coloured body...

Stoneware tile finial covered with yellow glaze. Molded dragon decoration. The dragon's style, mane, claws, eyes, and color indicate that this tile was created at the beginning of the Ming period to cover an imperial palace, probably Xuande or Yonglo. A very interesting and moving historical document, a testament to one of the most prestigious periods in Chinese history. All these 15th-century tiles from the imperial palace were replaced; most were destroyed, but some remain in some museums...

Unusual soy brown glazed cylindrical jar with lugs, circa late Ming early Qing. Excellent condition. H: 16cm/6.2in x D: 9cm/3.5in.

Good Cizhou type high fired, well balanced, ovoid soy glazed with russet highlights jar from a northern kiln, circa- Five Dynasties to Northern Song. There is a possible chip on the outer mouthrim (see enlargement)- difficult to tell if this happened after firing or before. There are remnants of kiln supports on the concave foot. H: 9.6cm/3.8in and D: 10.3cm/4in.

Excellent late 20th century copy of a classic Guan Yao 官窯 Song bowl- one of the Five famous Kilns of the Song Dynasty.If you can’t afford $200,000. For an original- this is the next best thing. This is quality of ceramic can only be achieved by a highly skilled artisan potters. D: 9cm/3.5in and H: 4.7cm/1.9in.

Unusual early Chinese cylindrical form stoneware vessel or urn with bulbous bottom covered overall with a mottled blue/purple/gray Jun type glaze that extends down to the unglazed base. Song Dynasty light green glazed stoneware bowl from a Fujian- Minnan or Putian kiln. This bowl has an elegant deeply incised abstract foliate pattern, and everted notched rim Good original condition- some kiln grit and a firing crack at the bottom of cavetto, has bell like tone when tapped. D: 17cm/6.8in and H: 6.5cm/2.8in.

Chinese Song Dynasty Stoneware Jar with Rare Stand & Cover - Dragon Chasing Pearl

This rare and impressive stoneware jar was made during the Song Dynasty (AD 960 -1279). It is quite "heavily-potted" with the outer body and inner mouth coated in an iron glaze, the colour of which varies from a "silvery" brown to black. Rare soy brown glazed stoneware vessel made in the shape of a grain silo. This basic style are well documented in Qingbai wares but this is the first I have seen in a brown glaze, also it has a fence going around the base which is quite unusual. It is in excellent condition with no repairs, cracks or fritting of the glaze and it is unusually large. H: 24cm/9.5in and D: 18cm/7in. It reminds me a lot of a Jizhou glaze but this seems heavier and more stable.

Very fine circa 1300-1400CE, Cizhou type lugged jar with thick iron brown and black glaze. Very beautiful piece in excellent condition (some original kiln flaws tiny frits , bubble burst etc). H: 10.8cm/4.2in and D: 14cm/5.5in.

Charming Pair of white Ceramic Clay Garden Elephant. Variations on saddle blooming blossems, sitting on Elephant’s back and sides. Saddle also has a floral design with cream lining and provides a flat top for ideal placement of garden plant. Beautifully aged, this elephant has a playful countenance, with trunk curled to one side and leaf like tale resting against back side.
