Rare Song celadon circa 10th CE, from the Longquan Kiln, Zhejiang. The glaze is a deep even light olive green, with clear lightly incised floral pattern on the underside. There is one hairline glaze firing crack in the cavetto which is visible about 2cm on either side of the footrim but does not go all the way through- noted in enlargements. D: 14.8cm/5.8in and H: 4.3cm/1.7in.

Good porcelain quality Qingbai bowl from Jingdezhen with classic sea green colored glaze and sugar like clay body. There is an internal firing hairline crack noted midway in the cavetto noted in enlargements- still has a clear bell like tone when tapped. . There are remnants of an original metal rim fused on the mouth rim. D: 16cm/6.2in and H: 5.9cm/2.2in.

Pair of Song Dynasty soy brown, Jian type bowls from the Dongzhang/Minhou Fuzhou kiln recovered from the Lianjiang shipwreck. Good condition, no damage or repairs, there is some original kiln grit in the cavetto and a minor irregularity on the rim of one. D: 10cm/4in and H: 4.5cm/1.8in. May still be used in a tea ceremony.

Very rare small celadon Yueyao lugged jar from a Zhejiang Kiln, circa Five Dynasties/Early Northern Song. This type of ceramic was a precursor to Longquan ware. There is a firing crack and some fritting (caused by pockets of air trapped beneath the glaze during firing) on one side- noted in enlargements. D: 9cm/3.5in and H: 6cm/24in. I have added a cosmetic "enhancement" (filled the crack and applied gold leaf).

Classic Liao 916CE–1125CE (aka Khitan) brown glazed sancai bottle. The Liao were a non-Han nomadic people, so the shape of this bottle resembles a leather flask that would be used by a culture on horseback. There are some kiln scars on the handle where it had come into contact with another piece during firing, which is a common feature from this genre of ware. Otherwise perfect condition, the glaze stable with a rich color. H: 28cm/11.4in and D:14cm/4.8in.

Classic celadon Yueyao glazed bowl from Zhejiang circa Tang to 5 Dynasties, circa 706 to 979CE. Unglazed circle at the bottom of the cavetto is where another bowl was stacked while being fired. There are couple of very small firing hairlines and tiny chips on the rim, otherwise good condition for an 1100 year old ceramic. D: 15cm/5.9in and H: 5.8cm/2.2in.

Fine Chinese Song or Liao Dynasty Cizhou Stoneware Bottle

This fine and attractive small bottle was made at one of the Cizhou kilns in the north of China during either the Liao Dynasty (AD 907 - 1125) or the Song Dynasty (AD 960 - 1279). It is "heavily-potted" with a wide body and a narrow ribbed neck. The body has been coated in a white slip on top of which is a slightly honey-coloured clear glaze that is very finely-crackled...
