This attractive smaller-sized porcelain bowl was made during the Song Dynasty (AD 960 - 1279). It is quite "heavily-potted" and has a foliated rim. The inner surface is decorated with an repeating incised pattern. It is coated in a fairly thick creamy-coloured glaze save for the rime edge that remains unglazed. It stands on quite a small, but sturdy foot. The body is translucent when held against a bright light.
