A beautiful Chinese pottery tomb figure of a female rider / Attendant on horseback. The figure dates to Ming Dynasty, 1368-1644 AD.

The figure is finely glazed in blue and torquoise colors. Pigmented colours in red, white and black. She is holding holding a box in her hand.

She has an elaborate high headdress and was made with many finely painted details.

A pair of decorative pottery figures of Soldiers, dating to Ming Dynasty, 1368-1644 AD.

The soldiers are dressed in blue and tourqouise glazed uniforms with harness and helmets. Each are carrying a weapon - a halberd and a sword. They are placed on square plints. Helmets and boots in pigmented colors.

Height: c. 22-23 cm.

Condition: A choice pair of pottery figures with wear for age and type.

A unusually elaborate pottery figure of a female Attendant, Ming Dynasty (1368-1644 AD.), dating to late Ming period c. 1550-1650 AD.

The lady wears a beautiful robe, glazed in green and yellow Sancai colors. She has an imposing hairdress with a scarf around it. She carries a basket with fruits or flowers on one arm, as if she was returning from the garden. The figure is placed on a square plint.

A pair of museum quality, large pottery figures of male attendants, dating to the mid Ming Dynasty, ca. 1500 AD.

The figures are placed on large Lotus thrones on top of high hexagonal plints in two-color yellow and green glazed robes. Also known as the Sancai colors.

They both wear high hats. One is carrying a box, and the other is carrying a fan(?) over his shoulder. Finely painted facial details. Lotus thrones are very rare for Ming pottery figures...

This painted pottery figure was made during the Northern Wei Dynasty (AD 386 - 534). Note the detail to the clothing and head gear. It is quite "heavily-potted" and made from a greyish-brown pottery that has been cold-painted in pigments, traces of which still remain in places.

This rare and very nice example of an "earth spirit" was made during the Tang Dynasty (AD 618 - 906). It is made from a high-fired creamy-white pottery that has been cold-painted in coloured pigments, traces of which still remain. What makes this example exceptional is the high level of detail to both the back and front of the creature.

This attractive pottery figure of a male attendant was made during the Sui Dynasty (AD 581 - 906), or possible the early part of the Tang Dynasty (AD 618 - 906). It is made from a high-fired creamy-white pottery that has been coated in a finely-crackled straw-yellow glaze that has acquired a slivery iridescence. There are also traces of the original "cold painted" black pigment to the head...

Chinese Tang Dynasty Pottery Lady (AD 618 - 906)

A small, but nice example of a pottery model of a female courtier, often referred to as a "fat lady", made during the Tang Dynasty (AD 618 - 906). Made from a relatively high-fired reddish pottery with traces of the original cold-painted surface pigment.

Height 16.75 cm (6.5 inches). It is in very good condition with no sign of restoration or repair.
