Wonderful Chinese antique gray pottery tomb figure of a horse and rider, beautifully sculpted and retaining much of it's painted slip details, the merging of geometric and naturalistic features exemplifies Han Dynasty sculpture. 206 B.C. - A.D. 220. Comes with certificate of authenticity. Size: 12 1/2" high x 12 " long

A pottery whistle in the form of an unusual face with its lips puckered as if whistling. The top of the whistle has green and brown glazes (sansai glaze) - the bottom is unglazed. The glaze has a very fine crackle. Under magnification, tiny pits can be seen on the fine crackle, which is consistent with the appearance of glazes for pieces of this period.

Lovely group of 3 Mingqi pottery figures, partly glazed in green and painted with black, red and yellow pigments. Detacheable heads and hands. Ming Dynasty (1368-1644). The dating of this group is consistent with the results of TL-test no. 05231113 by Laboratory Ralf Kotalla. H. 29 cm. Nice burial condition with expected age wear. A rare and splendid genuine Ming Dynasty Tomb Pottery Horse bending it's head down with a seated musician playing the cymbals. This is one of the earliest Ming pieces, ca. 1400 A.D., depicting a beautiful and elegant horse with fine modeling. The horse's neck is arched and it's mane and tail are glazed in a rare and vibrant turquoise color. Chinese Pottery Tomb Lady Figure with partially glazed with amber to brownish robe, and hands tucked under the robe, 10 3/8" high, 2 3/4" wide, 2" deep, light brownish amber color drip glaze robe ran down to the bottom, with unglazed head and bottom feet area with some tiny old rounded chips to larger chip about 1/2" wide on the right upper arm area on the Brownish glaze.
