This large and "heavily-potted" dish was made in the 14th century at one of the Longquan kilns in Zhejiang province, during the Yuan (AD 1279 - 1368) or early Ming Dynasty (1368 - 1644). It is the archetypal large Longquan celadon dish, an example of which should really be in every serious collection of Chinese ceramics.

Rare Chinese Northern Wei Dynasty Painted Pottery Horse & Rider

This rare and attractive pottery model of a horse & rider was made during the Northern Wei Dynasty (AD 386 - 534). It has been "cold painted" in a base coat of a white pigment on top of which are traces of red and black pigments. The horse stands upright with its head turned a little to its left. The rider's body is also turned to its left with the right arm raised; note also the detail of the rider's clothing.

An attractive, light turquoise glazed porcelain jar. Anhua (‘hidden’ or ‘secret’) decoration of peonies and vine incised into the porcelain and discernable through the glaze. A six character Kangxi mark, also Anhua (incised into the porcelain), visible through the glaze centered inside the foot rim. A large Serving dish covered entirely in a volatile landscape of scholars and winding mountain paths populated by towering temples and bridges spanning precipitous gaps by Shigemori Yoko enclosed in a wooden box titled Sansui E-zara.
