A creamy-beige colored crouching chimera. Open-mouthed and with head tilted upward, the details are nicely carved. There are some rusty-brown colored inclusions from long burial. Period: Song (960-1279D) Size: H = 1-1/2", Length = 2-1/2" Condition: Very good

Beautiful Chinese jade carving of a recumbent dog with a long narrow head and pointed ears. The grey-green matrix with dark flecks and russed inclusions. Nice carved details. Age: Early 20th century. Size: 3" length x 1" width.

An Indonesian mask carved in the form of a male figure. The mask is carved and painted with fur used to express the eye brows and mustache. A symbol like form is carved on the back of the mask to bless the mask and to animate the mask when being used. Antique Japanese Bronze sculpture extremely well modeled and superbly executed with stunning details depicting a young Japanese philosopher Kinjiro Ninomiya Sontoku carrying a bundle of firewood on his back and an axe through the back of his belt. The interior of the base is entirely inscribed in Japanese characters.

CONDITION: Very good quality workmanship with excellent natural dark patina, the right hand, carved of bone, is possibly a later replacement.

A large heavy bottle vase depicting two confronting five clawed dragons amongst clouds and flames and above breaking waves. The base carries the six character seal mark of the Qianlong Emperor (1736-1795)but possibly made later during the 19th Century. It arrived in the UK before 1910 and is from an old West Country estate. Condition - the neck has been reduced and polished. This is a great Japanese cloisonne bowl. We are quite confident the artist was Kumeno. The bowl while being very attractive does have some condition issues. There are lines and some slight enamel loss but it is still a dazzling display piece. The bowl measures 5 1/2 inches across and is 3 1/2 inches tall.

Small Japanese vanity tansu with seven drawers and two sliding doors, the front done in a variety of hardwoods, panels in gorgeous dark Jichimu (chickenwing wood) framed in rosewood, another set of sliding doors done in Keyaki wood, with brass handles and a beautiful lacquered black interior. Chinese blanc de chine porcelain statue of Quan Yin, the Buddhist bodhisattva associated with compassion. Her name is short for Guanshiyin, meaning "Observing the Cries of the World." She is seated upon a large wooden seat and wears a gorgeous cascading robe with strands of beads adorning her torso and legs. In her right hand she holds the branch of a willow tree. She is extremely detailed and beautiful. Dates from 19th century. Size: 10" hwight, 3" width

Wonderful Chinese Yixing box with crayfish on lid, cylindrical body with seal on bottom, round lid is made of black clay with highly raised red yixing crayfish, beautiful detail and large imperial mark with writing on the inside of lid. Size: 3 1/2" high x 4 3/4" wide diameter.

Beautiful Jade medallion skillfully pierced and carved on both sides with the Chinese character 'shou' meaning 'longevity'. Around its sides are leaves and lucky bats, which are thought to bring prosperity. 19th century Size: 2.25" diameter, 1/8" thickness

Gorgeous Chinese silk robe in an ivory color, with allover pattern of silk dragons and clouds. The breast of the robe has a large, beautiful phoenix with cascading feathers in light pink, grey, gold, and off white, with pink forbidden stitching around its face. Silk leaves with gold stitching and pink budding flowers decorate the lower front of the robe. The robe is edged in silk leaves and flower buds, zig-zagging stitches, and forbidden stitches. White jadeite carving, with areas of orange, of a smiling immortal man with long, flowing robes and his hair tied into a bun. He is identified as an immortal being by his long earlobes. His left hand holds the sash of his belt, while his right hand holds what appears to be a yoke over his shoulder. He is very detailed and even has extremely tiny nostril holes. 19th/20th century Size: 2.25" height, 1" width
