This is a beautiful antique porcelain vase from the Fukagawa factory. It is beautifully painted and has extremely fine enamel work. Look close at the cherry blossom images to appreciate this great artistry. The vase stands 9 3/4 inches tall. Condition is excellent and there are no condition issues.

Chinese soapstone chop seal with three carved foo dogs standing on a pedestal. The carve work is beautiful and immaculate. Massive Chinese Jin to Yuan dynasty (12th/13th century) Henan dark brown/black glazed horizontally ribbed ovoid form stoneware jar with high, wide shoulders narrowing at the base. The thick glaze drips down toward the flat, unglazed base. The rich black/brown glaze, referred to as “temmoku” by the Japanese, is highlighted by a russet colored cylindrical neck and rim. Measures about 13” high x 13 1/2” diameter. Very good overall condition with typical surface scratches to the glaze.

Antique Chinese tripod censer that comes with a tall, circular stand. The lid of the censer has a playful fu dog as a finial. The front and back of the censer features a cylindrical panel with flora and fauna upon a textured background, and the handles on each side appear as large fu dog faces. Late 19th century circa 1890. This tranquil pond scene is done in sumi on gold leaf and has a black lacquer wooden frame. Appearing to date from Meiji or early Taisho, the various cranes and songbirds are depicted with light and playful brushstrokes giving the piece an air of serenity and calmness. Small figurine representing Kuan Yin, the Buddhist Goddess of Mercy, in formal attire and wearing elaborate diadem and necklaces, sitting cross-legged on an elevated throne around which reclining lions are showing. Antique Chinese fine famille rose porcelain vase with landscape of mountains and lake. The vase is an elegant shape with defined calligraphy. This style of decoration was popular in the 1930s.
