Lovely vintage wearable woman’s dress from the Tai Dam ethnic group Vietnam. The “waist band” is all hand woven cotton cloth, while the black central panel is black raw silk, colorful silk embroidered wide bordered hem is particularly nice. Large standing gilded wooden Buddha. Dressed in full robes and with his down turned hands at this sides demonstrating the Calling in the Rain mudra, a gesture to bring the rain to nourish the rice fields. Tall pointed ushnisha and extended earlobes frame a face with down cast inlaid eyes and compassionate expression. From Luang Prabang, Laos. On custom metal stand.

Hand carved wood angel with glass eyes from a rural Catholic church in the Philippines. Comes with a wood gold colored horn which rests on its hand. Measures 34" high; Wings total 16" across. Circa 1940-50s. Condition very good, some age cracks.

Thai 13th - 15th Century Incised Stoneware Covered Box

This round box was made during the 13th - 15th century at the Sawankhalok kilns. Both cover and box have been decorated with an incised scrolling floral pattern, the design accentuated with the use of two different coloured glazes. The inner surface and base remain unglazed. Very unusually, to the base are incised lines: apart from the straight lines it appears there may be a picture incised although we cannot make out what it is...

Thai 13th - 15th Century Sawankhalok Stoneware Covered Box

This covered stoneware box was made during the 13th - 15th centuries at the Sawankhalok kilns. It is elaborately decorated in underglaze blue with a ring of yellowish-brown glaze around the moulded top of the cover that is in the form of picked fruit. Diameter 9.75 cm, height 8 cm. There are a couple of fine hairline cracks to the edge of the cover and minor chips to the edge of the box...

Thai 14th - 15th Century Sawankhalok Celadon Bowl (19.75cm)

This stoneware bowl was made at the Sawankhalok kilns around the 14th - 15th century. It is quite "heavily-potted" and coated in a finely-crackled translucent celadon glaze. The inner surface has been decorated with incised parallel bands and vertical lines. The unglazed lower part of the underside has fired to a reddish-brown.
