The two small holes let out the drops of water needed to make fluent ink out of the hard and dry inkstone surface. Joseon dynasty, probably late 19th century. Width "3/ 7.5 cm, height "1/ 2.7 cm. $250.00 These offering stands were used in Korea on a family altar to elevate offering to worship ones ancestors. These stands were owned by poor people and farmers, and they are good examples of Korean folk art. The largest stand is about 6" in diameter, followed by one at 5 1/2" and the other at 4 3/4". All of them show spur marks and grit where they were stacked for firing in a large kiln. They are all in good condition with no damage. The asking price includes shipping within the USA.
Korean Glazed Porcelain Bowl - Joseon Dynasty
This heavily-potted bowl was made during the latter part of the Joseon (Choson) Dynasty (1392 - 1910), probably the 18th or 19th century. It is delightfully "coarse" in its potting and coated in a cream/honey coloured glaze, the thickness of which varies. Around the centre inner surface is a ring of twelve kiln spacer scars from where another vessel was fired inside this bowl, also minor signs of wear from use... This porcelain jar of globular form was made during the 19th century toward the latter part of the Choson (Joseon) Dynasty. The underglaze blue decoration comprises floral patterns and two bands surrounding the neck. It is quite "heavily-potted" and there are couple of firing bubbles, no doubt due to the thickness of the clay. There is kiln grit embedded within the glaze to the base. It’s in very fine condition but a small chip on the foot rim (see photo), measures 6.6cm h. x 8.3cm d.

four-clawed dragon chasing a flaming pearl through the clouds,below a band of cusped clouds,

It’s in very good condition without any chip or repairs but it has short firing hairline cracks to the mouth rim...
