Japanese 4-panel byobu folding screen, with a shochikubai or "Three Friends of Winter" motif (plum, pine, and bamboo), the image of a pheasant seated upon a jagged rock formation, with a small singing bird on the twisting trunk of the plum tree. The image was taken directly from a commemorative stamp which is affixed to the corner of the frame.

A lovely Shino tea bowl fashioned from coarse Mino clay and covered in a crackled feldspar glazing. The front of the bowl is decorated with paintings of abstract foliage—possibly the lilting leaves of a willow tree—and the base of the bowl is unglazed, displaying rough clay. The paintings, which are applied using a ferrous glaze, along with the han-zutsu shape (half cylinder) are very typical of this type of Shino-ware...

Antique Japanese small gyosho bako (merchant safe box) made of Kiri (paulownia) wood in original red lacquer finish and black lacquer frame. Old working key included to unlock the front door to reach two drawers within. The top has raised edges with iron braced holes to securely carry the box.

An unusual-shaped Kutani vase with panels of birds and landscapes on a background scrolling tendrils surrounded by a thickly applied blue-green glaze. All symbols (phoenixes, birds, chrysanthemums, etc.) are symbols of good luck, strength, and prosperity. The stamp on the bottom is a "Fuku" character which means wealth and good luck. A Myochin iron forged Jizai Okimono articulated spiny lobster. Each iron plate is carefully reppouse hammered iron creating a natural realism representing the spiny lobster.
