An antique small tansu of kiri wood from the Taisho period. Sliding doors behind which books and small objects were stored. Lower drawers were used to store documents, photos, ephemera, receipts, etc.

This is a Japanese antique Edo Period of habutae-silk kaga-noren of Mount Fuji and the seaside landscape(miho no matubara). High quality hand-yuzen dyed Kaga Noren. With indigo and gray hand-drawn dyeing, it expresses an elegant and beautiful landscape. This kaga-noren is a very rare design and I think it was made by a special order by a wealthy merchant. The Size of Tolkkuri: 4 5/8" High x 2 3/8" Dia, 2 1/16" Bottom. The size of Each Sake Cup: 1 5/8" Dia x 1 13/16" High. This is very unusual and fine classy Japanese Kiyomizu Yaki Sake set by Sawamura Tosai 3 rd (1951-). It is made with fine quality Kiyomizu Yaki refine earthern body. The wall thickness on Tokkuri is only 1/16" Thick less than 2 mm. So as Sake cup has only 1 mm thick on wall. Tokkuri as well as 2 sake cup has the hand written signature of Tosai in blue underglaze (sometsuke)...
