Japanese Nabeshima ware porcelain dish decorated with a bird on a branch looking over a pond of omodaka (water plantian). The dish stands on a high, deeply recessed foot with outer "comb" cobalt blue design around its edges.

An exquisite vessel by Bizen legend Yamamoto Toshu enclosed in the original signed wooden box titled Bizen Meipin. The form is perfection, covered with a dusting of ash revealing a flame colored eye on one side, everything about the proportions timeless. This is a piece I could wax on for hours about, but will leave that up to the viewer. It is 8 inches (20.5 cm) tall and in perfect condition.
Yamamoto Toshu (1906-1994) began working in a pottery at the age of 15...

Ko-sometsuke porcelain was produced specifically for the Japanese market during the final decades of the Ming dynasty (1368-1644). A small Japanese porcelain plate glazed with 3 images of a person on an island, a row boat and mountain.

Japanese Edo period woodblock print by Toyokuni I (1769-1825) depicting the kabuki actor Nakamura Utaemon III portraying a sake peddler encountering a dog from a set of eight prints published by Yamamoto Heikichi in 1815. Kiwame censor’s seal. Paper size: 14" x just under 10." Very good overall condition and color with some typical minor wear. There is wormage evident that is well disguised and stabilized by an album backing...

A Tsuiki Jippo Cloisonne Enamel Writing Box (Suzuribako), 
Ando Company, early 1930’s .

The box is formed from heavy gauge copper, the lid decorated with tsuiki-jippo enamels in relief on a raised design of a Shinto shrine in a wooded setting, a Torii and lantern also present. The interior has been applied with a coarse cloth lacquered with both clear and red lacquer in an abstract design and contains a hardwood tray with fitted inkstone and tsuiki-jippo water-dropper...

A fine old ceremonial sake pourer, hisage, hand made from copper and decorated with shochikubai (pine, plum and bamboo), minogame and cranes. Also present are two prominent Tokugawa family crests and on the handle three 16 petalled chrysanthemum crests and another on the rear handle mount. 19th century or earlier. Fine work.

The body of the pourer has probably been raised from one sheet of copper...

This is a Japanese antique natural Safflower dyeing katazome cotton & shibori kimono of the edo-Meiji era. There is a change of color that oozes out of safflower dyed cotton. but there is no damage. They are not disturbing, and as a whole it is in very good condition. Around the hem and the part of the okumi and the red part of the cuff are muslin. Shibori under the sleeve is cotton. Size:Length:150cm / 59.0inch Cuff to cuff, across the back: 120cm / 47.2inch

An amusing tonkotsu, a container for tobacco, skillfully carved in wood as a man emerging from a basket! His clasped hands pierced to allow a suspension cord, not present. The eyes are inlaid and the base has a mother of pearl signature tablet.

Antique Kraak ware charger from the 17th Century. Classic blue and white porcelain with a center image of 4 birds amidst flowers. The traditional 8 panels are divided by 8 identical images of nature and intersected with images of jars, banana leaves and cherry blossoms...

Antique Japanese 2 section isho tansu (chest on chest for clothing), made of kiri (paulownia) wood. The top section has two large drawers and the bottom section has two drawers of different widths. The lower right hand corner has a hinged safe box door which opens to reveal two small interior drawers. Hardware is made of iron and includes square lock plates and square drawer pulls.

Celadon is all about form, and here Yagi Akira has nailed it with this expertly executed elegant shape composed of 2 interlocking pieces covered in green celadon glaze and enclosed in the original signed wooden box titled Kakushaku (literally horn scoop). It is 4-3/4 inches (14.5 cm) tall and in excellent condition.
This name is a must have in any collection of modern Japanese Pottery...

This is a truly beautiful large pair of Japanese cloisonne vases. They stand 8 inches tall and are 8 1/2 inches across. The workmanship on these is tip-top quality. Not signed but were probably made by Ando or Gonda.Condition is excellent and the rims are silver.

The top section has two large drawers while the bottom section has two large drawers with two small drawers in the lower right hand corner. The drawers, which are made entirely of kiri wood, have two hand holds cut into the interior sides for carrying. Hardware is made of blackened iron with round lock plates, corner and side bracing...

This is a Japanese antique Hemp kasuri child kimono. It has a thin slight stain. But that doesn't stand out. It has no damage and is in very good condition. I would recommend it to your collection. Size:Length:90cm / 35.4inch Cuff to cuff, across the back: 102cm / 40.１inch
