Small kogo, incense box, in the shape of a crab in rest. Grayish brown grainy earthenware, much like Raku, with red glaze and with patches of green and white glaze. The eyes are accentuated with gold, as is a small area on it’s back.

A fabulous large Mizusashi with a rugged, natural shape covered in cool blue and gray by Hagi icon Kaneta Masanao enclosed in the original signed wooden box titled Hagi Hai-Kaburi Kurinuki Mizusashi. It is roughly 18.5 cm (7-1/4 inches) tall, 26.5 cm (10-1/2 inches) diameter and in excellent condition, complete with the artists shiori and shifuku.
Kaneta Masanao likely needs no introduction, certainly one of Hagi’s most well-known and easily identifiable names...

Small, round covered box for keeping incense, kogo in Japanese, in the shape of a coiled snaked. It’s head is in the center of the cover, protruding. Gray, coarse stoneware with small inclusions, the outside turned brown from the heat in the kiln. Eyes are inlaid rings of clay, giving the snake a slightly goofy expression.

A superb example of this traditional shape by Living National Treasure Isezaki Jun enclosed in the original signed wooden box titled Bizen Mizusashi.
