This is a large attractive cloisonne vase that we have had on display for many years. It is not signed and we're not sure of the Artist. It stands 24 inches tall and is in excellent condition. The smaller stand is included. The tall hardwood stand it is displayed on, stands 40 inches tall and is available.

Rare oversized Japanese woodblock print ascribed to Utagawa Kunisada (1786-1865) titled “Mirror of the Physiology of Eating and Drinking” (Inshoku Yojo Kagami), also known as “Rules of Dietary Life,” and believed to date circa 1850. The print depicts a man seated cross-legged drinking a cup of sake with a bowl of fish in front of him. The bottom margin is titled, dated, numbered 30/100 and signed in pencil. The artist's red seal is beside the signature. Paper: 9" x 24 5/8" (image: 6 11/16” x 21 5/8"). Very good overall condition. The print is very lightly sunstruck and there are tiny brown spots about the size of the tip of a pin scattered throughout the paper.

The bottom margin corners are a little wrinkled and the paper at the back upper edge is slightly distressed from tape removal.

A Buddhist shrine, made for a temple, containing the 8-armed, weapon-bearing goddess Benten; her head adorned with a gilt bronze crown in the shape of a Shinto gate, decorated with birds, sun and moon, and beads. On the top of her head sits the snake-bodied water deity Ugajin. Behind her head a circular mandorla with three flaming jewels. Japanese antique rectangular kesa or priest/monk's outer vestment cloth. This asa (hemp) kesa is a yellow/gold color and finely woven with a design of phoenixes and clouds.
