$475.00 Japanese Black Lacquer heavy thick Cyprus wood Armor Trunk or Armor Storage Box with heavy black iron mounted, Ca. late 1800's, Meiji period, 19 1/2" high, 20 1/2" wide, 13 3/4" deep, lift up top, mounted with heavy black iron handles and corners with large red Kanji writing on both sides, and plain black lacquer finish on the sides, inside the trunk is finished with beige color lacquer. Shows wear and tear on heavy lacquer finish around edges and trims.

$300.00 Lovely black lacquer Japanese vase with 2 crickets. On the back side is a red dot (2 gold dots are on the front), a very interesting and subtle design element. Note in the photos, there is some minor chipping around base. Measures: 8.5" high, 4.25" across shoulder.
Beautiful Japanese obi with a woven design of Mt. Fuji above golden clouds. The design has more details than shown in the photos. The length shown in the photos was adjusted to 6'2". The total length of the obi is 14'6" long and 12 1/4" in width. The silver sky (touched up with brown painting) end when the obi is folded in half (7’1”) is followed by the other design in the same silver background...

sold Little distorted half cylinder shaped (kutsugata) tea bowl - made of light, coarse, unrefined Mino clay. The expertly thrown body is covered with the typical, glossy black iron oxide glaze inside and outside, leaving 2 unglazed 'windows' on opposite sites. One 'window' is decorated with ivy or vine leaves. The other 'window' shows flying birds in iron oxide glaze which has been covered with a clear ash and feldspar glaze. This is a typical Momoyama Era design...

$135.00 Japanese miniature black Raku Tea Bowl or Chawan in signed wooden box, Ca. 1980, the tea bowl measures 1 3/8" high, 2 1/8" diameter-top rim, impressed mark "Raku near the bottom and also top and inside the box, enclosed the paper information of the area of the kiln and how they made. Kiln crack on the white clay area where the impressed mark is located, but not on the black glaze inside the bowl.
