Lines of burnt straw scar the surface of this voluminous work by Yamamoto Yuichi enclosed in the original signed wooden box. It is 17-1/2 inches (45 cm) tall, 9 x 10 inches (23 x 25.5 cm) at the base and in excellent condition.

A stunning large Vase by important Hagi artist Yamato Yasuo enclosed in the original signed wooden box titled Hagi Ensai Henko (Flattened Hagi Vase in Flame Color). The top is raw earth burnt red by the flame, Below dark iron turns to ocher then the soft earthen beige of hagi, which gives way to pink, then cream before turning dark gray. It is 36.5 x 13 x 35 cm (14-1/2 x 5 x 14 inches) and is in excellent condition...

Above a long verse in Kanshi signed Tetsuzan. Ink and pigment on silk in a dark blue-green satin border with ivory rollers (the rollers will be changed for export)...

Tamaoki Yasuo was born in Tajimi, Gifu Prefecture in 1941 as the 4th generation heir of Gyokuzan-gama, a family kiln. He completed his education at Gifu Prefecture Industrial High School in 1960 and joined the family kiln thereafter...

Kane gong or bell of a very simple, cylindrical or dish shape, without any sort of decoration. Two loops for cords to hang the gong on a wooden rack. Yellow bronze (sentoku).
Inscription incised in the rim on the back/inside. It mentions the dedication of this gong at the Zenshoji temple in Meiji 40 (1907).

Antique Japanese “Yogi” bed comforter, hand-spun cotton with "tsutsugaki" paste resist dye in aizome Japanese indigo dye. The design is auspicious symbol, Sho-Chiku-Bai (pine, bamboo, plums). The shoulder and collar areas are accented with "kasuri" cotton. Excellent condition - no holes on the front except one small L shape cut (3/4"x3/4") on the lower area, some repairs on the liner. This piece is baked in "Anagama" for 10days, so it is naturally covered by ashes of red pine fire woods and has been firing- denatured on surface in natural. A serving dish in the rare Utsutsukawa-yaki tradition by Yokoishi Gagyu (b. 1975) enclosed in the original signed wooden box.
