$680.60 This is a Japanese antique indigo dye cotton Boro noragi old Farmclothes Thick of patched and sashiko stitch Meiji (1868-1912).
It was repaired many times, and the boro rag that were used became wonderful folk art by themselves.
The patchwork & sashiko stitch of the indigo dye cotton for the repaired is very beautiful.
The string of the repair is also charming. This noragi can enjoy both sides.

All original hand made iron fittings with Gumbai handle with a natural wood grain finish and straight dovetail joinery construction.
Chests such as these were used in a home to store letters, photos, miscellaneous ephemera, small valuables and other sundry items... Japanese Edo to Meiji period ten-sided polygon form Imari porcelain vase decorated in the kakiemon style in polychrome enamel and gilt highlights with a prominent flying phoenix bird on the front and three pawlonia leaf groupings extending around the circumference. Ten alternating geometric and stylized floral bands extend vertically up the sloping neck. An alternating scalloped band is above the foot. 19th century. Stands just over 10” high...
