It is a thick indigo dyed cotton noren that looks like a very nice folding screen of Taisho era. It is a very auspicious pine, bamboo, plum and crane, turtle design. There is a faint fading part, but overall it is in very good condition. On the far right is the name and date of the orderer for this noren. There is a family crest of the house. This noren has 12 panels sewn together. Size::Vertical length:170cm (66.9inch) / Widt:398cm (156.6inch)

Antique Japanese Red Raku Tea Bowl (Chawan) made by Waraku during Meiji period (1868-1912).

Made in Utsushi (ship design) style, its shape resembles the famous Seppo bowl, an important cultural asset, made by Honami Koetsu which is located in the Hatakeyama Memorial Museum of Fine Art in Tokyo.

Waraku started producing Raku wares around 1830 in Kyoto and now Motoo Kawasaki is the 8th generation of Waraku.

Japanese Meiji Cast Iron Tetsubin with Signature - Hailstone Pattern

The cast iron tetsubin (teapot / kettle) is of course the central feature of the tea ceremony. This example was made during the Meiji period (1868 - 1912) or possibly a little later, the pattern to the upper part of the kettle known as the hailstone or nail head pattern. It has a copper cover that is a perfect fit. There is a signature to the right of the spout and there also appear to be seal marks to the base...
